Because We Are Paying Attention
I wear my heart on my sleeve, pretty much. I don’t think it’s overly difficult to tell what I’m thinking. I’ve started to realise that my expressions give me away. Like the other day when someone joked about hitting our children with a metre ruler and daggers flew straight out of my eyeballs. Yeh, well. I can’t really say for sure, but maybe that was a little intentional (But that’s a post for another time). But seriously, I used to be concerned about my tears falling so easily. They have always been so close to the surface. Kind of embarrassing at times. Someone would tell me their story happy or sad and I would have to try and stop my eyes from welling up. I think it’s an empathy thing. I was once told that tears are God’s heart for people. I kind of like that. So now I embrace the tears and figure that they are a good thing. It’s how God made me. Have you guys read Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle? It is an incredibly moving and challenging memoir. It’s a book that I keep going over again and again. I love how she describes herself as […]

summer tote
I was hanging out with the amazing Alia Bland of Little Bee the other day. I told her about the happy shirt I made as part of my plan to wrestle 2018 into being a great year, and she told me her theory. She reckons wearing bright colours just hel… Continue reading

3 Minute Strawberry Vegan Ice Cream
This recipe for 3-minute vegan Strawberry Ice cream started out as a smoothie recipe, I made a little error at the start (well a big error when it comes to smoothie making) I added no liquid whatsoever and what I stumbled on was a brilliant east healthy way to make a dairy-free strawberry ice cream!…

My next two ladies
Continuing on with my motherly theme I created these two ladies, my pregnant woman having a moment with her bump and the blessed mother with her child. This time to make sure they didn’t slump I used vinyl, taped into a cone, covered in a bread bag as a support. After the first day […] Continue reading

A YELLOW Valentines Vignette…
I mean – why does it always have to be …
pink…or red?
My old upcycled sideboard is in the darkest corner of the room,
so the YELLOW makes it POP with beautiful happy colour!
I used my Valentine collage canvas as the centrepiece.
You can find out how to create one HERE.
Then I bought the brightest yellow chrysanthemum flowers I could find.
But if you can’t source them yellow lillies or gerberas are an option too.
I placed the flowers into a French inspired white tin container that my vase fitted inside.
The other side of the side board was decorated with an upcycled yellow spray painted heart.
This was hung inside a rustic white crate.
The final touch were some fairy lights.
These heart shaped battery operated lights were a ‘Farmers’ store find.
I’m LOVING everything about my YELLOW Valentine vignette…
Such a bright, cheery and still romantic change from the usual Valentine colours.
And visitors to my home really LOVE it too.
Funington City
Funington City, established in 2018, is a crazy cardboard city of creativity. It has free parking always, a well-looked after Funtanical Garden where bird feeding is encouraged, and a popular Unicorn Pet Store. There’s no traffic in Funington, Stop signs aren’t the time to sit tapping the steering wheel, that’s when you Stop and Dance!…

Dubious Parenting Choices
So, here’s a thing I’ve been thinking about. I listened to Jon Ronson’s podcast The Butterfly Effect on my slow, cold, knee-stiffening runs around the park: the series where he delves into the free porn phenomenon of the last 15 … Continue reading → Continue reading
